LPC License Renewal

During the renewal process, you are not required to submit the CEU course materials with the renewal application, only the completed CEU recording form. The Board will conduct a random audit for CEU compliance. If you are selected, you will be notified and asked to provide all CEU course materials.

License Renewal Details

Licenses not renewed by the renewal due date shall expire. LPCs and LMFTs who have not renewed their license and continue to practice after the expiration date, is deemed guilty of unlicensed practice.
Expired licenses may be renewed within 60 days after the conclusion of the renewal cycle by paying the original renewal fee of $145 and a late fee of $100. (Per Series 2, LPC Fee Rules)
After 60 days, expired licenses may be reinstated upon payment of the original renewal fee ($145), a reinstatement fee of $250, and a late fee of $100. (Per Series 2, LPC Fee Rules)

ALPS Requirements

A licensee who is an Approved Licensed Professional Supervisor (ALPS) shall complete three (3) required continuing education hours in clinical counseling supervision. The hours can be included in the 20 hours of allowable home study or formal programs required. The program must have “clinical supervision” in the title or offering description and shall be NBCC, ACA, or WVBEC approved.

The renewal fee can be paid by credit card. Print and include the receipt with your renewal materials. Please send a certified return/receipt if you would like verification the Board received the application.
