Please read carefully and choose the option that is reflective of your LPC license # and issue date your license.
If your LPC license number is 2084 or below, (issue date of 06/30/2013 or below) you have the following two options to renew your license:
(Per Series 3, LPC Renewal Rules, this LPC will not submit the CE certificates of completion at this time. A random audit will be conducted at a later date and those licensees randomly selected will be notified via email.)
The LPC will have 20 minutes to complete the online application. Please be sure you have your information ready and available in order to enter your information within this timeframe. If you exceed 20 minutes, the link times out and all information entered is lost and you will be required to start over in order to complete the online method.
Please be sure to print each completed page (ctrl + P) before moving on to the next so that you have a printed copy of your submission. This is the only method of obtaining a copy of your completed online renewal.
The final screen will be the credit card payment page in which you will make your payment online. Be sure to enter your email address when prompted.
After your submission and credit card payment, you will receive an email of payment confirmation from the WV Treasury Dept for your credit card payment. This does not include a copy of your entries for the online application. Please be sure you follow the tip above and print your entries as you navigate to each page within the online application. If you haven't received the email within 30 minutes, check your 'junk' folder as sometimes the email lands here.
PLEASE NOTE, you must included your CE Certificates of Completion with your renewal application materials.
After downloading, be sure to double click the forms in order to enlarge. Please first print the instruction sheet and the checklist before proceeding.
When you reach the two (2) page LPC Renewal Application and the LPC CE Recording forms, double click once again to begin entering your data.
After completion, the LPC will print the documents, sign and date the 2 page application and mail the packet of materials to the Board address provided on the form.
All LPC licenses expire 6/30/2017
The 2017 LPC Renewal packets will be emailed to the LPC in March 2017. Please be sure WVBEC has your current email address. You may update the board with your email address and contact information by completing and forwarding the Update Form found at the Update Contact Info. Tab.
The packet will also be available for download on our website.
For the LPC with the expiration date of 6/30/2015:

**If you have moved out of state and/or retired your WV counseling practice and wish to apply for the LPC-Retirement Status designation, please email RClay27@msn.com for application materials. Please click here for the LPC-Retirement status designation requirements.
3.11. After the 60 days (of the expiration date), individuals with expired licenses may reinstate their license upon payment of a renewal fee and a reinstatement fee. This includes the renewal application, recording form and all the continuing education certificates.
You will need to include the $250 reinstatement fee, with the renewal fee and your 2015 LPC Renewal Application Packet. Your materials must be mailed to the board and postmarked on or before 6/30/2017.
*After June 30, 2017 - 2 years beyond the expiration date, your license is considered lapsed and in order to regain LPC licensure you will need to RE-apply for licensure and will fall under the current licensing rule in which a 60 hour master's degree in counseling is required and 14 content areas within that master's will also need to be fulfilled (per Series 1, Licensing Rule, effective July 1 2007, or current rule at the time the LPC reapplies for licensure.)
