Formal and telephone meetings usually begin at 10:00 AM and are typically held in Charleston. However, please check back for the confirmed meeting location or call (304) 558-5494 thirty (30) days prior to the meeting date.
Purpose of Board Meetings: To approve previous meeting minutes, review fiscal status of the Board, disciplinary matters, approve licensure of professional counselors and marriage and family therapists, and other miscellaneous items. Portions of the meeting to include discussion of licensee disciplinary cases is not open to the public. Meeting agendas will be available three (3) business days prior to the meeting; for access, please contact the Board office.
(Please note, the primary purpose for 'telephone' Board meetings is to consider licensure of professional counselors and marriage and family therapists, e.g. 'endorsement' applicants meeting all requirements for licensure, and 'standard' applicants that have completed all requirements, including supervised counseling/therapy practice hour requirements, for licensure. Other items listed above may be included as needed.)
2021 Credentialing Committee Meetings
In order to take your file materials to a scheduled meeting above, your applicant file materials must be "complete" and postmarked 10 business days prior to the meeting date.
Please allow 5-7 business days following the meeting date to receive a notification via email with the Committee's findings.

2021 Virtual Spring Continuing Education Conference for Social Workers
WV Licensed Professional Counselors Approved for 15 hours for attending approved sessions. 1. Complete this form. 2. Fax/Email/Mail a copy by May 31st to NASW WV. 3. Keep a copy. The following sessions have been approved for WV Licensed Professional Counselors CE hours: Thursday: A 1, A 3, A 4, A 5, B 2, B 3/C 3 (LPC Ethics), B 4/C 4, C 2, D 1, D 2. Friday: E 1, E 3, E 4, F 1, F 2, F 4, G 1, G 2, G 3, G 4/H 4 (LPC ALPS), H 3, H 5, J 1, J 3. Saturday: K 1, K 2, K 3, K 4, K 5, L 1, L 2. Session B3/C3 applies to the LPC Ethics requirement and session G4(H4) applies to the ALPS (LPC Supervision) requirement. Both continue through the following time slot to assure they offer 3 full hours. The following events are NOT approved for LPC CE hours: Thursday Opening Presentation, Saturday Opening Speaker Bil Lepp, Saturday Closing Remarks, and Exhibitor Networking Opportunity.
